Going Viral On TikTok

When I first launched my personal TikTok in February 2020, I never could have imagined that two months later I would have amassed over 50,000 followers and two videos with nearly six million combined views. Because of this initial success, I decided to put together a case study analyzing my content in order to better understand how I was able to achieve so much success on TikTok in such a short amount of time. Fast forward to October 2022 and I have almost 200,000 followers with many videos that have achieved over one million views, including one video reaching seven million views. I think it’s important to reflect on past successes (and failures) in order to help refine your existing content strategy.

Check out this TikTok case study I created in May 2020—its interesting to see what things have changed since then. TikTok has become one of my favorite social media platforms because it embraces short form video content and is constantly evolving to keep up with the fast-paced and fluid world of social media. One very important thing to note about TikTok is that in early 2020 the platform had 800 million monthly active users and barely a year and a half later that number has now jumped to over one billion monthly active users, showing us that TikTok is the fastest growing social media platform in the world.
