My Most Viral Video is a YouTube Short

In February 2022, YouTube hired me to create some original content using their latest tool, YouTube Shorts. After seeing a lot of organic success with one of my Shorts featuring pro skateboarder Matt Berger (see below), YouTube promoted the video on their main Instagram account.

I was approached by YouTube because Shorts is competing directly with TikTok and over the last 3+ years I have amassed a large and engaged TikTok following. In August 2022, I posted this clip of adaptive skateboarder Justin Bishop skating the Dew Tour adaptive contest last July and that Short has become my most viral social media video ever! It currently has almost 43 million views and has resulted in my YouTube account amassing almost 39k subscribers in less than 7 months and a few months ago I became a YouTube Ads Partner.

My advice: Begin repurposing your most successful, vertically-oriented TikToks and IG Reels on YouTube Shorts.
